The Slavonic Corps is a Hong Kong-registered private military contractor that operated during the Syrian civil war. According to media reports, the Slavonic Corps was registered in Hong Kong by two employees of the private security company Moran Security Group, Russian nationals Vadim Gusev and Yevgeniy Sidorov.

Russia’s use of mercenary outfits to advance Moscow’s purposes has its roots in the 1990s when Russian private security companies, such as the Moran Security Group and the Slavonic Corps, began providing security services to Russian businessmen in Africa.
